Many thanks to cupidsbow for the invitation to rec here; this is my first rec post outside my own journal, so I'm excited about it. :)

On with the show!

Title: Fear
Author: ciceqi aka Sleeps With Coyotes
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi, Obi-Wan Kenobi/other
Rating: NC-17 (see warnings)
Why you should read this: This story is one of the most spine-tingling pieces of fiction I've ever read, period. It could be classed as a crossover with Alien, but you don't need to be familiar with that movie beyond the poster art to read this. It also has fantastic tension and suspense and is very well plotted. This is my blue-ribbon rec for the post.

Warning: GRAPHIC horror, rape, violence, lots of shiver-inducing stuff. Not a nice story. But very, very good.

Title: Gardening At Night
Author: flambeau aka torch
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: This is a wonderful little PWP, except torch can't write anything truly shallow so the plot sneaks in anyway. She has such a deft touch with language I was almost drooling when I read the opening paragraph. Obi-Wan's characterisation is perfect. A fun romp through an alien garden with a good action sequence to whet our appetites for the (lovely) smut.

Title: Compay Segundo
Author: Gloriana
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: Compay Segundo is a story about trust and how it works in a relationship. It's one of those "Master/Padawan ritual" fics, but this one has an interesting point to make. This story is in two parts.

Title: The Pirate And The Padawan
Author: Briony
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: An AU that grabbed me by the neck despite its shaky opening and refused to let go till I was finished. Briony has created a highly interesting alternate reality far in the future of the Republic, where the Jedi Temple has gone from creating Force-trained Knights to, er, courtesans, who are then sold to the highest bidder. Obi-Wan Kenobi is the most accomplished Padawan to ever grace the Temple's halls, until he meets his new Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, and learns what being a Jedi ought to mean. It's quasi-slavefic, but not the usual sort. Oh, and it's long. Don't start it unless you have a few hours up your sleeve.

Title: Floating World
Author: 3jane aka Jane St Clair
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: PG-13
Why you should read this: Jane St Clair writes gorgeous fic. She has a lovely quiet style that sneaks up and surrounds you with warmth and leaves you with a smile on your face, and this story is no exception. Qui-Gon has been on a solo mission while Obi-Wan languishes on Coruscant trying to deal with his loneliness and need until Qui-Gon returns. Not a smutty story - there's no sex at all - but a beautiful and loving one. There is a sequel, A Warm Place, but it doesn't have quite the same feel.

Title: Noise
Author: ciceqi aka Sleeps With Coyotes
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: "Noise" is one of those first-time stories I keep for multiple re-readings on quiet evenings. It has some Qui-Gon angst, as he agonises over wanting his Padawan for more than just sex while Obi-Wan appears to be perfectly happy with things as they are. There's some h/c thrown in as well and a satisfying resolution for all.

Title: The Jedi Temple Murders
Author: Annalise and Kirby Crow
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: JTM is a longish story in three parts that deals with a series of murders, the victims of which are all friends of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan is fingered as a suspect in the crimes and he and Qui-Gon have to deal with the stress this puts on their relationship, as Obi-Wan knows more about the killings than he's telling.

Warning: Physical and emotional rape, violence.

Title: Who Will Not See
Author: Ladonna King
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: Is Obi-Wan really as oblivious of his appeal as he seems? Another obtuse-Qui-Gon story, but again it's one with a sweetness to it that grabbed me. A bit of fluff to offset the doom-and-gloom that permeates the fandom.

Title: Jailbait
Author: Katbear
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: Obi-Wan is captured and imprisoned on a mission and has to learn to deal with an unusual cellmate. Katbear has created a fantastic OC in this story who somehow manages to be a sympathetic character, despite his treatment of Obi-Wan. There's some nasty stuff in this fic, so it's not for the faint-hearted, but it's worth it for the character development. And if you like to torture helpless Jedi (as I do), then this is right up your alley. Another long one.

Warning: Rampant Obi-Wan abuse, rape, violence.

Title: Extraordinarily Resilient
Author: corilannam aka Cori Lannam
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: PG
Why you should read this: Another "ritual" fic, but one that interested me more than the usual. It's an AU; Obi-Wan is Knighted and he and Qui-Gon have to sever their training bond. Difficulties ensue. Qui-Gon has to face some things he's been hiding from. It's not exactly an "oblivious" fic but it has some elements of that type. Cori Lannam writes good TPM though, so give it a whirl.

Title: Meet Another
Author: flambeau aka torch
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: You should read it 'cause it's torch. Aside from that, this is an AU take on TPM where everyone lives who otherwise wouldn't have. *cough* It involves Qui-Gon Jinn as a slave in Jabba's palace, an adult Knight Kenobi who undertakes to rescue him, and some mutual attitude. Anakin and Shmi also feature, as does Xanatos, so the canon's a little mixed in with the Jedi Apprentice novels. A solid long story that stands up well as an alternative to the movie.

Title: The Apprentice Master
Author: Lilith Sedai, Lorelei, Cori Lannam and Kate Evans
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: This? This is good clean BDSM fun. Obi-Wan is a fledgling dom who is persuaded to go to the Jedi-only pleasure club to find himself a suitable sub. He doesn't realise he's been set up until he's faced with the least-likely sub on the planet: Qui-Gon Jinn. Disguised in the club, Obi-Wan decides to take on the challenge of taming his Master. Despite how it sounds, this is really a rather romantic story, and the descriptions of Qui-Gon as a sub are delicious.

Warning: Beware - there are one or two illustrations on the page that load with the text. BDSM.

Title: The Mona Lisa Smile
Author: Miriam Heddy
Fandom: Star Wars: TPM
Pairing: Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rating: NC-17
Why you should read this: Qui-Gon can't figure Obi-Wan out, and it's a lot of fun watching him try. Miriam strings us along for the ride as the Master attempts to demystify his Padawan without letting Obi-Wan know what he's doing.

Hi, just working my way through. You're link to "Noise" goes to "A Warm Place", I'm afraid. Where can I find "Noise"?

Oh wow, I'd forgotten all about this post! I do actually have a copy of Fear--if you give me an email address I'll send it to you.

Also, I just got through a nostalgic revisit of Q/O fic, and found a new (to me) author named who is absolutely brilliant. She hangs out on DW, but she posts everything to AO3 anyway. Go, read everything.

I found this when I asked Google about some Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan recs. Your recs are intriguing, but unfortunately a few links are broken, and for the life of me I can't find them elsewhere. Do you happen to have a copy of "Fear" and "Noise". If so, would you send me one? Pretty please? Thanks a lot! (shimas.wing[at]gmail[dot]com)

Hello! Years after the original post, obviously, but if you're still monitoring and you have a copy of "Fear"? I have been wishing frantically to read this! Any chance of getting a copy? I'm at nice.margins(at)gmail.com if so. Hoping with fingers crossed!!!
